Recently, Lucille stepped out for some delivery work, and Greg grabbed this chance to spend some alone time with Joan. Greg shared that he understands that intimacy can’t always be planned, but he had no other option.

Greg is evidently not in the best financial state, and his lack of a job is not helping the case. Greg still lives with his mother and does not pay rent. Additionally, he now had to pay for the wedding, the wedding dress, and all the customs. Joan’s family recently called her and asked how Greg was. She replied that he is “mostly great” and added that sometimes she feels a “little frustrated” with him.
Joan also told her family that she couldn’t decipher how she would live with Greg’s mom for two years. Greg does not have a stable income. Her family asked Greg to get a job. They also asked her to talk to him about dowry. As per Uganda, the man had to buy her 15 cows, which should all cost $200 each. Given his income, Joan doesn’t know how she would talk to Greg about the dowry. She added that they have their own personal issues. Furthermore, he’s not financially stable for now.
Joan then sat down with Greg to discuss the dowry. He was taken aback by it and asked her how realistic it was to afford 15 cows. Joan emphasized that it was her custom and that men could afford 15 cows in her culture. She even added that Greg could not afford them because he had no job. Greg feels it’s unfair for him to bear all expenses and even the “dowry.”
