Upon reflecting on marriage with Ethan, Olivia Plath revealed that she has been subjugated too many times. She said that he threatened her behind closed doors. While sometimes it’s to scare her with a warning that he will buy a gun, other times he would strand her on the roads. In a Reel she posted on March 27, she clarified that she got no bruises from him.
Despite Ethan not hitting Olivia, she suffered brutally. She recalled that he would tell her that he could harm her friends if she dared to become a liberal woman. Her former partner also indulged in cussing her and spitting on her face by taking her to a corner. He would also not let her live alone after their disagreements and toss the car whenever she sat inside.

Olivia Plath took a dig at TLC for complying with Plath’s way of hiding things in life. After getting married in a traditional family, she frequently opened up about her experience. She told her Instagram followers that she began writing a diary only after her divorce to pen down her treatment.
Olivia was unsure whether what Ethan was doing was called domestic violence and abuse. The 26-year-old then noted how she feared people wouldn’t trust her until she explained. Throughout her video, she didn’t name the man under whom she faced abuse, but it looked like it was indeed Ethan.
Olivia narrated a story that happened while she and Ethan sat for filming the series. At that time, the pair had just started their divorce proceedings in 2023. The situation turned ugly for the two in Welcome To Plathville Season 6, which ran from July to October 2024 on TLC.
According to Olivia, the audience couldn’t witness everything unraveling while she and Ethan shot the episodes. As she returned to Minnesota to sign divorce papers, Ethan shocked her by throwing a chair into the bar. She further alleged that what got left out was him locking eyes with her and saying calmly in a low voice.
