Welcome To Plathville: Signs The Plath Family Dynamic Will Look Totally Different In Season 7 (Who Is At Odds Now?)

There are several signs that the Plath family dynamic will look different in Welcome to Plathville season 7 as several cast members are at odds now. Welcome to Plathville premiered on TLC in 2019, as cameras followed the once-ultra-conservative Plath parents, Kim and Barry, as they raised and home schooled their children. Kim and Barry had ten children in their native Cairo, Georgia, although the eldest Plath child, Hosanna, has never appeared on the show, and middle brother, Joshua, was accidentally killed by Kim in an accident.

The show has highlighted the older Plath siblings, Ethan, Micah, Moriah, and Lydia, in their young adult life journeys, and Kim and Barry’s divorce and subsequent rearranging of the family has followed. Over the years, the show has become less about showcasing the conservative aspects of the family as Kim and Barry have lightened up, and more about the family dynamics, which are constantly changing. With the introduction of new partners, continued relationship strains, and the different Plath members’ life endeavors, Welcome to Plathville has evolved, with clues that season 7 will be the most divided yet.

Moriah Will Be Isolated From Her Family

Moriah has been the most polarizing member of the Plath family since the beginning. Moriah has a rebellious streak, and is headstrong about representing herself exactly how she wants. That has translated into the unique and shocking way she dresses, to her career path as an aspiring musician. Moriah’s relationships have also taken center stage in her storylines over the years. Her first-ever boyfriend, Max Kallschmidt, was a part of Welcome to Plathville seasons 2 and 3, before he ultimately cheated on Moriah and they broke up.

In WTP season 6, Moriah detailed how she was fresh off of a nasty heartbreak worse than she felt with Max, and more information was revealed later in the season. Moriah’s family and Micah’s girlfriend, Veronica Peters, spilled the tea that Moriah had been dating a toxic individual who had a child and a relationship with another woman. Veronica said the then-mystery man would gaslight Moriah and disrespect her constantly. However, Moriah shocked her family by getting back with her ex, in a move that drove a wedge throughout the Plath structure.

Moriah’s boyfriend was identified online as Tampa, Florida-based musician Matthew Craven as the end of the season unfolded. It’s unclear whether Moriah is still dating Matthew. If she is, it could be cause for concern among Moriah’s family, and it could polarize Moriah even more as she makes bad decisions around her relationship. If Moriah has moved on, her family may be more cautious with her, as she tends to isolate herself.

Ethan & Kim Will Clash Over Ethan’s New Girlfriend

In the 2025 new year, Ethan hard-launched his new girlfriend on Instagram. Ethan was married to his now-ex-wife, Olivia Plath, from 2018 until early 2024. One of the main issues that arose in Ethan and Olivia’s marriage was Ethan’s unhealthy relationship with Kim, who allegedly used Ethan financially and showed her tendency for manipulation and meddling.

If Ethan brings his new girlfriend into season 7, Kim and Ethan could be at odds once again, after they made headway in their rocky relationship in season 6.

Barry & Kim Will Continue Their Divorce Battle

Barry and Kim announced their split in June 2022, after 24 years of marriage. However, there has been no official indication that their divorce is finalized, as they have been hashing out custody agreements and financial impasses. Kim has moved on with a new man, Kim Palmer, who has been featured on the show since season 5, while Barry is reportedly still single. As their divorce battle presses on behind the scenes, they will likely continue to be at odds on-screen.

Isaac Plath Will Be Broken Off From The Family

Youngest Plath brother, Isaac, was a teenager during Welcome to Plathville, and turned 18 in October 2024. Isaac likes to go mostly drama-free on the show, although there have been hints that he does well with the ladies. Now that Isaac is no longer a minor, and has made headway into becoming a pilot, he could have more of a role in Welcome to Plathville season 7. Moreover, he may be more broken off from his family as he forges his own path.

Olivia Will Make No Appearances In Season 7

Olivia is the Welcome to Plathville cast member who is now completely at odds with the Plaths.

Having divorced Ethan, and introduced her new boyfriend (with a matching tattoo), Olivia no longer has a place on the show.

Olivia has not had nice things to say about any of the Plath family members, and the attempt at becoming cool with her once-bestie Moriah in season 6 didn’t go all that well. In the future, Olivia will likely be cut out of the show.

Micah & Veronica Will Have Individual Couples Drama

Former playboy, Micah, ditched his LA heartbreaker lifestyle to settle down with his girlfriend, Veronica, in her Southern Florida home. Their storyline in season 6 was mostly based on their awkwardness as a couple and the idea of getting engaged. Micah showed a lot of hesitation over the engagement step, while Veronica was ready yesterday. Veronica knows all the Plath family members, but she showcased herself as nitpicky and demanding, which could put her at odds in her relationship and with how the Plaths perceive her.

Welcome to Plathville‘s season 7 landscape will look different. As many of the moving parts within the Plath family dynamic are changing, there is a lot of room for opinions and drama. While season 7 has not officially been confirmed, there is no indication that it won’t happen, as fans have come to relish watching the Plath’s fluctuations and love lives in relation to one another.
